Doric Dolphin

During the summer of 2014 Aberdeen City hosted 50 Wild Dolphins painted statues as part of a fund raising event for ARCHIE Foundation at the Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital and the Whale and Dolphin Conservation (WDC) charities.

Artists were given creative freedom to decorate them and the Doric Dialect Dolphin pictured above was by Gabrielle Reith and was placed at the Old Aberdeen University Campus just outside the Sir Duncan Rice Library. She combined Doric, Gaelic and Scots words.

Gabrielle said: I've always loved using words and pictures to communicate and inspire and feel that the dolphin project is a brilliant vehicle for my practice.
